A few weeks ago, I spent a gorgeous morning with this lovely pair, braving the wind and rain in Heptonstall, near Hebden Bridge, for their relaxed Yorkshire engagement shoot. It was of course, in true West Yorkshire style, absolutely bloody freezing and raining cats and dogs, but these two were too in love to care and battled through like trooper!
A true Yorkshire romance
We explored the gorgeous local landscape, even visiting the spot where Adam proposed to Emma. A truly international couple, Emma and Adam live in Malta, met in Cambodia whilst travelling and hail from Singapore and Hebden Bridge respectively- and their sense of adventure definitely helped as we braved the Yorkshire weather! I had such a great time listening to their stories- I’m a sucker for a romantic tale! I loved that they were brave enough to wrap up warm and brave the elements- it made for a gorgeous, relaxed shoot, with lots of smiles and love in spades.
Who cares about the rain anyway?
If there’s one thing not to worry about on your wedding day, or during your engagement shoot, its the weather. It’s the one thing you can’t control, so whether its bright, harsh sunlight, a good old fashioned downpour or flurries of snow, I’ll be there with a camera and we’ll get some gorgeous images like these. The best way to deal with the weather is to just go with it! Splash in puddles, bring wellies and a brolly and enjoy the hell out of it! After all, if your dress isn’t mucky by the end of the day, you didn’t have enough fun!
Want to play in the rain with me?
