On Saturday, I had a absolute ball, enjoying a perfect Spring day with Emma & Adam. In total contrast to their rainy Hebden Bridge engagement shoot, it was one of those bright days with barely a cloud in the sky, and a gently warmth that seemed to awaken the wonderful city of Manchester. At least, that’s what it felt like to me. To Emma’s family, who had flown in especially for the wedding, from Singapore, it felt absolutely flipping freezing!! But, warm or not, everyone had just the best time, enjoying some amazing Northern hospitality at The Castlefield Rooms in Manchester.
Emma got ready with her beautiful bridesmaids and Mum at The Victoria & Albert Hotel by Marriott. They spent the morning laughing, dancing and having fun, listening to all the tunes that reminded them of their many travels and adventures together. Emma met her bridesmaids in Hong Kong, whilst they taught out there, and they traveled to spend the day with her, not only from the far reaches of the UK, but from as far away as Zimbabwe! It truly was an international affair!
Emma & Adam’s beautiful, personal ceremony, created for them by the amazing Celebrant SJ, included readings and songs from artists as eclectic as Backstreet Boys and Metallica, and from Manchester’s finest, the poet ARGH KiD. It was such an honour to be there- as SJ said, “this ceremony was totally, utterly and completely them”.
For the couple’s portraits, we had so much fun enjoying the industrial glory of Castlefield, wandering by the canal, across the many bridges, and seeking out beautiful blossom trees. I just can’t get enough of that stunning pink cherry blossom! These two were just totally comfortable with each other, and so genuinely in love, and it shines out of their portraits. I loved watching their lovely caring gestures towards each other, Adam carrying the stunning train of Emma’s dress, and Emma brushing the confetti from Adam’s hair in the beautiful sunshine. What a way to spend the afternoon!
After some absolutely a gorgeous dinner and some hilarious speeches, the couple and their guests danced the night away. Their carefully chosen playlists meant the dance floor was always full and the moves were epic! Thank you so much to Emma & Adam for having me along- I absolutely loved being a part of your day. Enjoy your previews!
