A Stylish Rainy Wedding at Everyman Theatre, Liverpool

everyman theatre Wedding Photographer

Ooooh I’m so excited to share this one with you I could burst! Darren and Carol celebrated their incredible (if rainy!) day in some serious style at The Everyman Theatre in Liverpool.

I knew from the moment I met this uber-cool pair that I would be in for a fabulous time at their wedding. We chatted about a shared love of graphic design, indie music and good nights out, and put the world to rights as we chatted about their plans, and got on like a house on fire! From the outset it was clear they had some incredibly creative ideas, and were going to be planning their day very much their own way- which is just how weddings should be done!

We started the celebration as Carol got ready with her girls at her & Darren’s beautifully styled home. I just loved all the quirky prints as a backdrop for the preparations! The bridesmaids gorgeous floral dresses complemented the dramatic peony bouquets perfectly, and Carol looked like a movie star in her stunning dress and veil! Darren & Carol got married in church, and although the rain meant indoor group shots, there was no stopping the confetti! I just lovely their confetti shot under clear umbrellas!

Travelling in Style!

We travelled from their gorgeous church ceremony to The Everyman in a big red bus, with all of the guests getting the party started early quaffing glasses of fizz and singing the whole way there! Despite the incessant rain (it was the wettest wedding I have EVER done!) everyone was in great spirits, which I knew would make for an epic party later on.

A stunning theatre wedding

We arrived at the The Everyman Theatre in Liverpool, and after taking some super cute portraits on the bus, the party got started! Instead of canapes, the couple opted for tubs of popcorn as a nod to the stunning theatre location, which was a super-cute touch. The crisp, industrial modern style decor of The Everyman suited the couple’s perfectly and was complemented by their miniature Jagermeister favours and DIY flowers- which Carol and her bridesmaids did an amazing job of the day before! I absolutely love shooting weddings at The Everyman- I never get bored of the stunning building and amazing light!

My highlights from this super stylish Everyman wedding

A Personalised Newspaper!

The super talented groom, Darren used his incredible graphic design skills to design not only the invites and their super stylish wedding logo, but also an INCREDIBLE personalised newspaper, telling their story in a totally unique way. Absolutely amazing! I just loved these quirky details!

Portraits

Later in the day, we took full advantage of a very brief break in the rainy weather to pop out for some portraits. Located just off Hope Street, The Everyman is in one of my absolute favourite areas of Liverpool, with is wide streets and imposing Georgian houses- its just absolutely stunning. I also ADORE the street art around there, and as Carol and Darren are both Beatles fans, we simply had to take advantage of the ‘All You Need Is Love’ Mural! We also snuck in a few rainbows as a nod to Liverpool Pride, which was happening just around the corner.

Party Time!

Once we arrived back, it was time for the First Dance, which with its backdrop of twinkly fairy lights was an absolutely magic moment. They even chose the same track as I had for my first dance with my husband- “Baby I’m Yours” by Arctic Monkeys, before kicking off the party as they meant to go on, rocking out to The Coral. the dance floor was absolutely bouncing all night long, with some absolutely epic tunes, thanks to Tom Byrne, their DJ, and their acoustic duo, Northern Lights.

Before heading home and leaving them to party, I absolutely HAD to sneak them into the auditorium for a few theatrical, La-La Land inspired portraits. I think you’ll agree, it was totally worth it! The theatre at The Everyman is a STUNNING space, and I just loved every moment of Carol and Darren’s incredible day. I love being an Everyman Theatre wedding photographer and I can’t wait to shoot there again!
