Fun Colourful Trash The Dress Shoot in Southport

One of the things I totally love about my brides, is that they’re usually relaxed enough to not give a hoot about their dress getting mucky. A phrase I love hearing is “If it’s not filthy by the end of the night, I’ve not had enough fun!”. That super-chilled attitude means that you can trash the dress and party the night away without a care, which is so cool!

Nova and Jack took this to a whole other level though, with a fun, colourful ‘Trash the Dress’ shoot with Holi powder on Ainsdale beach in Southport. I was lucky enough to photograph this lovely pair’s amazing festival wedding back in July, and their original intention had been to use Holi powder as confetti. A last minute change of plan meant they had the powder anyway, so we decided to turn it into a crazy fun shoot- trashing Nova’s THREE wedding dresses! As you can see it was ridiculously fun and colourful, and a great way to brighten up a chilly November afternoon on the beach!!

Nova had a slightly rocky journey when choosing wedding dresses, from having a dress handmade in India and not liking it, to eventually deciding on a stunning Phase 8 beaded gown less than a week before the wedding! needless to say, she collected a few along the way, so during the shoot, Nova, her sister and her mum wore three of them- such a bloody brilliant idea! Plus, let’s be honest, who wouldn’t love having a mad afternoon throwing paint powder at each other! I’m absolutely in love with the clouds of colour, and the way the paint spattered on the dresses! Plus the absolute happiness in these photos makes me all warm and fuzzy!

If you fancy getting crazy and trashing your dress- feel free to get in touch for a chat- no idea is too crazy- in fact, the crazier the better! Enjoy the photos!
